About the Symposium

The field of Information and Records Management is undergoing a significant transformation driven by various dynamics such as digitalization, the increasing volume of data, artificial intelligence applications, and environmental concerns. In this context, the main theme of the symposium has been determined as “The Discipline of Information and Records Management in the Context of Sustainability.”

The symposium aims to address contemporary approaches across a broad spectrum, ranging from sustainable service design in information centers to digital preservation strategies, from environmental responsibility in archives and records management to open science and data management processes. In addition, the changing roles of information professionals and the requirements of sustainable professional development will also be among the major topics of discussion.The 5th International Symposium on Information and Records Management: From Tradition to the Future aims to bring together academics, practitioners, relevant professional organizations, and all stakeholders interested in the field of Information and Records Management in order to establish a common platform for discussion and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge among scholars and experts in the field. The abstracts submitted to the symposium will be evaluated by a scientific committee composed of subject specialists.
